About damani

Damani is creative and vivacious with a passion for fashion, food, and travel. Born in Washington D.C and raised in Chicago, she holds a BA in Merchandising Management from the International Academy of Merchandising and Design.  After graduatiion she worked as a Merchandiser for a watch manufacturer, developing watches for a junior private label watch brand, traveling overseas working with vendors, and creating packaging options. It was there she was able to hone her skills in design implementation, line development and trend research.  In 2004, she moved to Milan, Italy attending a shoe design intensive at ModaPelle Academy- a program immersed in the culture of fashion, design, quality materials, and manufacturing.

Damani works as an Assistant Manager for City Soles in Chicago and designs her own line of hand illustrated stationary cards featuring shoe styles she creates herself.  When she isn't putting pencil to paper, Damani is teaching yoga part time, and finding inspiration in the every day things, culture, architecture, travel, nature, and food.
